Originally from Huron County, Ontario, Mark moved to Namibia in 2007 as a volunteer web designer and journalist for a human rights, non-profit law firm. Since then, he has become involved with two organisations dedicated to providing affordable and sustainable transportation options to everyday Namibians. At the Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN) Namibia, Mark is spreading the word about the importance of bicycles in the Namibian context through various communication activities. And at Physically Active Youth, an after-school sports and tutoring program, he coaches a team of young Namibian cyclists.
